When it comes to sustainable farming and production practices at Desert Valley Date, we get that we’re a little different. But we care about walking the walk. Dates are transforming the way people everywhere indulge in their favorite sweets, but did you know they are great for the planet?

Our Palms Fight Global Warming

Date palms capture and store carbon dioxide more efficiently than other trees. They’re able to store carbon dioxide in both the tree itself and the fruits, and one mature tree is able to remove 200kg from our air each year!

We Cultivate New Trees Each Year

To top off the fact that our date palms are great at what they do (for both our date snacking addictions and global warming), we cultivate new trees every year.

More trees = more to love. More dates and less carbon dioxide is a win-win in our book.

We Use a Solar Power Canopy

We just couldn’t let a ray go to waste. We use solar canopies at our facilities to power our production needs so we can keep on doing what we do best - making quality date products for our customers with the planet in mind.

We save some Water for the Fishes

We use a number of farming and production methods that allow consumers to not only love our dates without any guilt, but be part of a responsible movement towards sustainable agricultural practices!

Zero Shame in Our Game

In our commitment to our environment and the responsible, sustainable practices that love it back, we reuse palm fronds as fertilizer and upcycle lower grade fruit into date syrup and cattle feed so that we truly give back to the earth and can call ourselves a zero waste facility.
